Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking RID-certified ASL Interpreters for in-person medical appointments. CyraCom is the leading provider of language interpreting services. As an Independent Contractor Interpreter, you must possess a high level of skill, proficiency, and professionalism in order to provide accurate and complete interpretation. Due to the sensitive nature of the information processed during an interpretation session, you must maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality at all times. JOIN THE CYRACOM INTERNATIONAL TEAM * Competitive hourly rates * Flexibility: Choose which appointments to accept * Must be BEI or RID Certified * Advanced, accurate interpretation skills for repeating critical information between English and American Sign Language * Ability to facilitate many kinds of conversations - emergencies, medical procedures, legal situations * An extensive working knowledge of the NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act We are looking for experienced candidates that have a mixture of the following: * Professional certification and training * A two- to four-year degree in interpretation * 5+ years' experience providing ASL interpretation * Experience in relevant areas other than interpretation (e.g. healthcare) *As an Independent Contractor Interpreter, you will not be employee of CyraCom. Rather you will function as a vendor, providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis.*
