Job Description Job Description JOBID: PHS-6008 Position: Respiratory Therapist Location: Reno, NV, 89503 Shift Notes: 06:00 - 18:30 3 X 12-hour shifts per week Start date: 02/16/2026 - 05/17/2026 Pay: $35-$40 per hour A Respiratory Therapist (RT) in Reno, NV provides clinical care to patients with breathing difficulties, cardiopulmonary disorders, and acute or chronic respiratory conditions. RTs work in hospitals, outpatient clinics, home health settings, or specialty units such as NICU/ICU. They assess respiratory status, administer treatments, operate life-support equipment, and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Key Duties & Responsibilities Respiratory Therapists typically: Patient Assessment & Care Evaluate patients respiratory status through examination and diagnostic measurements (e.g., arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests). Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans based on physician orders and clinical findings. Monitor patients regularly and modify treatments as needed. Education & Licensing Completion of an accredited respiratory care program (associates or bachelors degree). Valid State Respiratory Therapist License (Nevada) and NBRC credential such as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist) often required Experience Experience in acute care, critical care, neonatal care, or pediatric care is preferred for many hospital roles.
