Roles & Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality inpatient oncology nursing care during night shifts Safely prepare, administer, and monitor IV chemotherapy and manage potential reactions Document thoroughly and accurately using EPIC charting Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes Perform timely assessments and intervene for acute changes in patient condition Educate patients and families about treatments, side effect management, and discharge planning Support Med/Surg units by floating as needed while maintaining oncology care standards Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives to continuously improve care Qualifications Current California RN license ONC/Chemo certification required Current BLS and ACLS recognition Demonstrated experience in inpatient acute oncology and IV chemotherapy administration EPIC charting experience Comfort with floating to Med/Surg units as staffing requires Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and teamwork skills Knowledge & Skills Oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy safety Intravenous infusion therapy and chemotherapeutic agent handling EPIC electronic health record documentation Acute care assessment and monitoring ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response Patient and family education around oncology treatments Time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced inpatient setting Benefits Travel assignment perks to help you feel at home while you work Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your credentials current Supportive team culture that values your expertise and wellbeing Professional development and continuing education encouragement Flexible scheduling discussions to help balance life and work Comprehensive orientation and EPIC support so you hit the ground running Paid time off options available through the staffing program Referral program to reward you for bringing great teammates aboard Travel Perks: Explore Chico, CA Chico is a welcoming college town with plenty to explore on your days off.
