Job Description Job Description Tax Specialist (Contract) Location: Nashville, TN (Onsite/Hybrid depending on client need) Type: Contract Pay: $26-$28/hr Start: ASAP About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to support upcoming tax-season workload, daily tax compliance functions, and filing activities. This contract role is ideal for someone who can immediately step into tax preparation and tax operations, is detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and state tax returns , including 1040s, Schedule C, and small-business filings (supported by experience seen in Michael Baehler -Accountant (Target Salary $45/hr.)). [ACH | Outlook] Assist with multi-state tax compliance , tax setup, and resolution of tax authority notices (aligned with multi-state experience in Ann Stewart- Payroll/Tax (Target Salary $30)). [Tax | OneNote] Support sales tax, personal property tax, franchise/excise tax, and other recurring tax obligations. Maintain accurate tax documentation, reconciliations, and workpapers. Respond to internal and external tax-related inquiries. Collaborate with accounting teams during audits, year-end prep, and tax reconciliations. Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing of all assigned tax items. Required Qualifications 2 years of tax preparation or tax compliance experience Experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations Proficiency in Excel and tax software such as UltraTax, OneSource, TurboTax, or similar tools (seen across Tax Manager Job Description for Tax Alchemy and Michael Baehler -Accountant (Target Salary $45/hr.)).
